Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) is a independent, national organisation of lawyers, such as solicitors, barristers, and legal executives who are committed to providing the highest quality of legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.

With the increasing longevity of the UK population, ageing and quality of life are becoming increasingly fundamental to people’s pre-occupations and thinking. There is a huge gap of knowledge and skills to cope with the demands of longer living and the breakdown of both the family nucleus and the concept of the wider family.

Solicitors for the Elderly seeks to address some of these issues by providing a forum in which legal people can increase their knowledge and tap into a pool of expertise to ensure they deliver high quality legal advice. Secondly, SFE, through its membership criteria, seeks to ensure that anyone who is a member of SFE will be capable of giving accurate, relevant advice because, as members, they have access to cutting edge thinking, expertise and training.
