This seminar considers the best practice to adopt and the pitfalls to avoid when drafting unusual and bespoke clauses in wills. The topics covered will include:

  • Funeral and burial wishes. Lessons from Re Stewart-Brady (Deceased) [2017] EWHC 2543 (Ch)
  • Gifts of chattels: from how to describe items and beneficiaries to rights of selection and discretionary distribution

Harry Martin
Harry Martin was called to the Bar in 2012 and practises from 5 Stone Buildings. His practice focuses on general Chancery matters including wills and probate, family provision, trusts, personal taxation, and art and cultural property.
His recent experience includes advising in relation to the dispute concerning the place of re-interment of the remains of King Richard III and acting in the Fielden v Christie-Miller litigation in 2014 and 2015.
